Introduction

These are the reports for all the races I have done this year. I can't promise to keep these updated but I will try my best!

I am 13 years old. I started Triathlon 3 years ago when I entered a triathlon at my local swimming pool. I won it and really enjoyed so I looked out for more and more.

Last year I was chosen to represent Scotland at the British Youth Aquathon Championships in Loughborough and this year I was chosen to represent Scotland at the selection race in Rivington for the European Youth Relay Championships and will again be going to the British Youth Aquathlon Championships. This time they are being held at Salford, two days before and using some of the same route as the Commonwealth Games Triathlon so we are staying on to watch that, too.

The event I usually do is called a Novice Distance, a Short Sprint, or sometimes a Super Sprint. I am too young to do a full Sprint distance yet, though I will be doing one this year as it's in my home town (Helensburgh). In a Novice distance I usually do 400m swimming, about 20km cycling and a 3km run. As well as Triathlon I also do both Duathlon and Aquathlon. A Duathlon is running, cycling and then a second, sometimes slightly shorter, run. An Aquathlon involves doing a swim and then a run - sometimes followed by a second swim & run.

In winter I also do cross-country races, and all through the year I go to competitions with my swimming club (M&B ASC) and athletics club (Helensburgh AAC).
